After having a devoted practice with listening to Tea, Flowers, and sitting with them in mindful communion with painting – this practice never ceases to humble me how powerful the Earth teachers of water, plants, and pigment really are.
I moved through severe health challenges and much grief through returning to this practice repeatedly. Among many rituals I keep I developed this practice over time and it shifts as I need it to, but I thought I'd share a little bit that can get you started on your journey today.
It was a space for my body and spirit to cultivate both endurance and harmony simultaneously. It continues to be a practice that shifts devotion into discipline but not from a place of “I have to do", but “I get to be with”.
Moreover it become a place of sanctuary, a way of prayer, and a love poem in living dialogue with the Earth spirits. Dedicated moments of healing and renewal for us both in order to continue to move from and pour from the overflow.
Sitting with tea, flowers, and painting even for brief dedicated moments at a time allowed me to grow my artistry into a sacred communion space and encouraged the flourishing of intuitive painting, deeper communion with my visions, creativity, and the soul of my business - not to mention a deeper conversation with the animals and plants in which I paint and dream with.
This practice continues to offer my heart, spirit, body, mind and creativity renewal while I listen in how the Earth guides my work.
